Reuben Appointed Class Counsel in Angie’s List Litigation

Ms. Reuben was appointed Class Counsel in the matter of Fritzinger v. Angie’s List, pending in the Southern District of Illinois (Case No. 1:12-cv-1118-JMS-DML).  A consumer class action, the matter recently settled for $875,000 and has been approved by the Court.

Kitchenoff honored as Man of the Year by Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs

(December 2013) WKA Member Robert S. Kitchenoff was honored as Man of the Year by Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El at the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, Middle Atlantic Region. The mission of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs is to involve Jewish men in Jewish life.

Weinstein teaches course for lawyers on Jerusalem in international law

(December 2013) WKA Member David H. Weinstein presented a two hour continuing education course for lawyers on the unique status of Jerusalem as a matter of international law. Given under the auspices of Gratz College, the course explored various legal opinions about this city held sacred by three of the World’s major religions.

Asher presents seminar at the Antitrust Litigation Forum in Boca Raton, Florida

(November 2013) WKA Member Steven A. Asher presented a seminar at the Antitrust Litigation Forum in Boca Raton, Florida, where he addressed the effect of the Supreme Court’s Comcast decision on class certification motions in antitrust litigation. Mr. Asher also serves on the Steering Committee of the Forum.

Settlement approved in In re: Imprelis Herbicide Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation

(October 2013) A settlement between class members and defendant DuPont in the matter of In re: Imprelis Herbicide Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation was granted final approval by the Honorable Gene E.K. Pratter, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. WKA Member Robert S. Kitchenoff is liaison and settlement counsel for the plaintiffs.

Asher appointed to plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re Lithium Ion Battery Antitrust Litigation

(July 2013) WKA Member Steven A. Asher was appointed by the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the Northern District of California to serve on the direct purchaser plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in a class action against major manufacturers of lithium ion batteries.

(June 2013) Weinstein Kitchenoff & Asher LLC filed a complaint against providers of international, trans-oceanic vehicle carrier services for engaging in a conspiracy to unlawfully fix and artificially raise the prices of such services.
